What about a freelance bookkeeper?
If you would rather head down the freelancer route, you can keep your costs low and only pay for what you need every month. Freelance bookkeepers will usually charge £30 and £40 per hour. The freelancer could be based in a different part of the country and may not work be local to your premises. While this is preferable for some companies, others may struggle to trust someone if they have never met them or don’t regularly work with them.
I provide two types of payment. An hourly rate or a set fee for all work needed . This would depend on amount of work needed to reach completion.
